Civilian Conservation Corps The Cut Foot Sioux Civilian Conservation Corps Camp (F-14) was located 3 miles north of where the Cut Foot Sioux Visitor Center is today. The site is located just in from the corner of Hwy 46 and Forestry road 2171 (also known as the 3rd River Road).

The Civilian Conservation Corps was created in April of 1933 by President F.D. Roosevelt. The program was designed to revitalize the economy and provide employment during the Great Depression.

In Minnesota, there were approximatly 135 CCC camps and the Cut Foot Sioux Camp was one of 23 camps located in the Chippewa National Forest.
