Listed here are some of the resorts and National Forest Campgrounds available for campers , but there are also some great spots off the beaten path. Be sure to check with the area forestry center before you set up camp and always obey the "No Camping" signs...they're there for a reason.


Camping in the CNF

Triangle #1 - Deer Lake Campground
Located 20 miles north of Deer River off Highway 46, take the Eagle Nest Road (Forest Road 2198) four miles west. The campground is split into two separate loops. North Deer Lake Campground has 17 sites and South Deer Lake Campground has 31 campsites. A boat ramp is located between the two campgrounds and provides lake access via Biauswah Creek.

Triangle #2 - West Seelye Campground
Located 20 miles north of Deer River off Highway 46, take the Eagle Nest Road (Forest Road 2198) three miles west. This campground has 22 campsites and access to the boat ramp near the East Seelye Bay picnic area.

Triangle #3 - East Seelye Campground
Located 20 miles north of Deer River off Highway 46. Turn west on the Eagle Nest Road (Forest Road 2198) following it for 2 1/2 miles. East Seelye Bay has 13 campsites, a picnic area, swimming beach, boat ramp and parking area.

Triangle #4 - Mosomo Campground
Located 19 miles north of Deer River on Highway 46. Turn west on Forest Road 2190, just half mile past the Cut Foot Sioux Information Center. More info from the Chippewa National Forest website including campground maps.

Triangle #5 - O-Ne-Gum-E Campground
Located 18 miles northwest of Deer River on Highway 46. There are 48 campsites available with 11 sites located along the Little Cut Foot Sioux.
