New PavementThe residents of the "cemetary point" loop won't have to deal with the heavy dust from the dirt roads anymore. The loop from River Haven along the river to Co. Rd. 149 and back out to Hwy. 46 received a "face lift" this fall, with dirt work and pavement. |

Bright Star Says "Good-bye" to an old friend On Saturday, August 30 Bright Star Resort said good-bye to Cabin 4. Many people remember this as Ole & Doris' cabin, and many more knew it as "Killer's". The wrecking ball came as Bright Star makes way for 2 new cabins. The crowd toasted Ole and joined together with Tim in singing "Oh Canada" as they sat by the bonfire later that evening. |

The "Take a Kid Fishing" Day was a success! The Squaw Lake Fire Department held it's 2nd Take a Kid fishing Day. There were more than double the amount of kids ready to fish at this years event compared to last year. Fishing took place from 9:00 am until Noon when lunch was served. After lunch several of the kids took part in the "casting" contest where they attempted to cast their line into a target area. Fun was had by all who participated (even the adults) and the Fire Department is looking forward to next years event. |
